How a Cerebral Palsy Patient Turned from Being a Victim to a Victor!

Whatever you picture in your mind, you will get!
Hi, my name is Hitesh Ramchandani, one of the graduates of Acme Achievers’ NLP Practitioner program. Also a motivation speaker today, things haven’t been always rosy for me since birth.
Being the unfortunate one
Due to medical negligence, I was born with cerebral palsy, a neurological disorder that causes physical disability in movements, thereby ensuring the child’s struggle to achieve their normal developmental milestones.
Many people thought that with this disability, I could never progress in life. Right from the beginning of my life, I was often treated patronizingly.
The doctors were adamant I would be better off in a special school while teachers felt I would find it difficult to handle the rigours of a normal education system. However, my parents believed that I was strong and intelligent. I myself saw a bright future ahead. I saw myself as somebody who is smart and talented.
Visualisation for Beginners
Every day, I practiced the powerful NLP visualization tool. Effectively, I create images in my mind of being, having or doing whatever I want.
You see. Repetition is important. When I was practicing visualization, I did not fleetingly imagine for one second, but recreate images over and over again. Five minutes per day were all I needed.
With visualization I didn’t just picture it from the outside, I ‘live and breathe’ it as if it is already happening. The power lies in living as though it is happening now, in the full belief that it will be.
People who believe in visualisation do not believe in ‘magic’ as such! They understand that it is simply a very useful, grounded, smart mental trick.
Since the subconscious mind cannot distinguish between what is real and what is imagined, your subconscious will respond and act upon the visualized images, whether or not they relate directly to your actual present.
This can very powerful indeed.
For instance Arnold Schwarzenegger, five-time winner of the Mr. Universe title, a successful real estate tycoon, A-list movie star and governor of California can certainly be said to have made it, several times over. He is an incredible achiever and he attributes a lot of his success to his mind-set. He didn’t just hope for the best, he lived as if the best had already happened:
“It’s all in the mind. The mind is really so incredible. Before I won my first Mr. Universe title, I walked around the tournament like I owned it. I had won it so many times in my mind, the title was already mine. Then when I moved on to the movies I used the same technique. I visualized daily being a successful actor and earning big money.”
Similarly, I say to you that all dreams are possible for you to achieve, as long as you see them in your mind long enough.
One of the primary reasons why numerous people find it difficult to move forward and achieve their goals is because their vision is limited. They don’t see themselves being promoted, they don’t see themselves accomplishing their dreams, they don’t see themselves being happy and they don’t see themselves living a healthy life.
Yet, we have the power to choose our thoughts. We need to decide which thoughts to keep and which thoughts to dispose of. Our imagination is incredibly powerful. Once you get a picture of something good or bad, you will inevitably move towards that particular direction. You have to make the choice now!
